I spent many hours on this painting, trying to get into a wildlife art competition. It has turned out okay, I think, but don't know if it's good enough to be accepted. My friend photographer Deb Simon gave me permissions to use her beautiful photos. Thank you Deb! You are wonderful.

Goodness, they have better accept this piece or I might have to go to them and run over some toes! It's absolutely stunning - love the eyes and the fur, OMG the fur, I can practically pet them and feel the fur through my fingers! Good luck Akiko and congrats on accomplishing this beautiful piece!
Erika, lol lol I might warn the judges about you and your scary wheelchair. Thank you for your compliments and support!! Really appreciate it!
Akiko, have you heard of Namiki Hajime? He's a living Japanese Woodblock Master. I own/sold many of his pieces. I thought of him the moment I saw your trees in the distance. The wolves are amazing but I am captured by your landscape in the background. Beautiful Style you have. I'd like to see some more of that from you!
Alice, I've never heard of him, so checked the Internet. He does woodblock prints of beautiful trees in traditional Japanese style. They are so beautiful. I love woodblock prints (ukiyo-e). When I was at college, I borrowed money from my dad to buy some old pieces. I still have them.
Absolutely STUNNING! You can see every hair and almost feel their warm breathe.
Jen thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such wonderful comments!!

Linda, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving the compliments!! I really hope it will be accepted.
Akiko, I don't think I have ever seen any of your work that isn't "show" quality!
Thank you Gail. I really appreciate your support!!! And thanks for visiting my blog!
I agree with what everyone else has said - any competition would be lucky to have one of your pieces and this one is gorgeous - and what a beautiful tribute to a very sad legacy of the Mexican gray wolves.
Thank you so much Shelley!!
