More ACEOs

These are my latest ACEOs. The tiger ACEO was my study for a larger piece (11 x 14 inches) and the lion for a smaller piece (miniature art).

I like how the tiger turned out, so probably will be doing the larger piece next. Lions are always hard to paint because they do not have any special markings. This lion ACEO needs more improvements, but I don't want to spend more time on this piece, so will have to try another one that is a bit smaller.

The tiger is incredible! I know the larger piece will be too. The eyes on the lion are so intense!

Akiko, I love all of your cats, big and small, but these two are real standouts. Incredible detail and the straight on poses are so powerful.

I agree...These are wonderful and the tiger is stunning....Also, I agree that it's easier to paint animals with markings. The most important thing about animal portraits is portraying a personality though, and you do that so well through your reflective and intense eyes...they draw you into the work.
