Pacifica Pier

Title: Dusk at Pacifica Pier
Size: 12 x 12 inches
Medium: Acrylic
Support: Stretched canvas

This is a pier in Pacifica, a city on the coast about 10 miles south of San Francisco. People gather here for many different reasons, such as fishing, dog walking, picnic, watching big waves and sunset. It's just a beautiful place to be at anytime of the year. I often go there to take pictures of crows.

I did this painting for the upcoming county fair. This is my second seascape printings. It was a big challenge for me as I expected. The difficult part was getting the right colors. I was staring at my reference photos for days. lol Well, I think it turned out okay.

My next project is a still life painting. Hopefully I will be able to finish it after I come back from Japan. Yes, I will be visiting my family next week. :)

Akiko, this is yet another beautiful painting, and a very successful departure for you, but I'll bet there's a cat or two on that pier...ha!

Akiko, I love seeing you paint something like this. It's so personal... you go there to photographs crows... that is really cool. Who can resist the colors of a sunset over an ocean.
