Title: Fuchsia and Hummingbird
Size: 8 x 10 inches
Medium: Acrylic
Support: Hardboard
I have been spending a lot of time in the backyard sitting in front of our fuchsia plants, trying to take pictures of the hummingbirds that show up there. I must have taken hundreds of pictures, but only a handful of them turned out to be good reference for painting.
When you take a look at the hummingbirds closely, they are so beautiful and amazing. I will definitely do more paintings of them.

J'admire la finesse et la légèreté que vous avez réussi avec succès à reproduire... Très jolie peinture et félicitations pour cette générosité picturale.
This is gorgeous Akiko! Who doesn't love humming birds! You captured this one perfectly! I love the Baby Barn owl below as well! Wonderful!
I think this is one of my favorites, just look at how you captured that movement. Awesome!
I lvoe those birds too. You did such a beautiful job.
So beautiful!
This is a beautiful piece. I can almost feel the flutter from her wings. Great job on the feathers..
Akiko, I haven't been here in a long time so I came to check up on you. First, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother, but you are right...she is in a better place now.
I love your baby barn owl and your needle felted cat. Two outstanding examples of your work. It is obvious you hold yourself to a high standard.
So much detail in those tiny little blooms!
You are amazing, Akiko!
