This is a miniature portrait of an amazing artist Erika Nelson. We are doing an ACEO portrait swap, which was developed from Karin Jurick's year-end DSDF portrait project. I have painted many different animal coats before, but a faux fur was my first attempt. I just hope this painting would not scare someone who is dear to Erika. ;)

This is just amazing realism for an ACEO! And you captured the fake fur perfectly, too. Wow, this is just incredible! :-)
You captured the faux fur and ME perfectly YAY!!!! It's awesome Akiko! I thought I was looking at a photo when I saw the thumbnail :) THANK YOU! xoxox
Kathleen, thank you! I realize now that fake fur is very different from real fur although recent many of them look just like real fur.
Erika, I'm happy to receive your approval. I just hope you like it in person. It will be shipped on Monday. :)
I love it! Guess we'll both ship Monday :) Are you doing the DSDF? I'm not sure I'll do it yet.
Akiko, you have so many talents, I am not able to do people and make them look anything like the actual person I'm trying to do! You are truly a wonderful artist no matter what you are painting!
Subarashii!!! You must have used a 0 or a 000 brush to get all those details. I'm envious of your talents.
Akiko!!! your painting was one of ones featured in this article!!!!

Gail you are too kind. I have so much to lean about doing people portraits. They are very difficult.
