"Paint Me, Protect Me" Wins 1st Place!

Size: 11 x 14 inches
Medium: Acrylic
Support: Stretched canvas

I've just found out that this tiger painting has won the first place at 2009 Wildlife Art Competition at Irving Art Association in Texas.

Last Saturday, I received an email asking me to fill out a W9 form for my "cash award." I was excited about it, but had no idea what my painting won then.

Omedetoo!!!! *cha-ching* drinks are on Akiko-san!

Just kidding. Go and have a nice dinner with your hubby. Wait a minute.... if there is a tax form...maybe you need to start planning a vacation to Hawaii!

Congratulations again! You deserve it and so much more!!!

Congrats!!! How exciting to be recognized and appreciated with CASH! This painting is breathtaking. Love the strong shadow across the eye and the way the stripes curve toward the upper corner. Excellent!

Akiko!

It is no surprise to me that you won. This is absolutely flawless!

So beautifully rendered!

I love the gentle curve of the tiger's stripes and how the pattern it creates arcs across the painting.

Perfection!!
