San Fancisco Victorian House ACEO

Size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches (ACEO)
Medium: Colored pencil with gouache
Support: Multimedia artboard

From this drawing, I have leaned that overworking KILLS the drawing. I could not get the sky I wanted. After applying a layer upon layer with color pencils, there is no return. :( With oils and acrylics, you can cover up your mistakes. There is still a lot to learn about this medium.

Very pretty, Akiko. It makes me want to go inside and sit by the lace curtains and have a cup of tea. :-)

Indeed it is good. I like doing ACEOs, but you're the tops. Every aspect of the piece is pleasing and skillfully done. bravo.

adebanji, thank you! I think the size limitation had an adverse effect on this piece. :(

Sheila, if you are blocked from my blog, it would mean that Google has shut down. I really appreciate your support!

Kathleen, you are so kind! Thanks for your visit. :)

James thanks for your visit and nice comment! I'm still thinking about your "practice." I listened to the song, but it's quite difficult to come up with an image that I can translated onto my canvas.

Colored pencils are fickle, I do limited work with them! Your house is wonderful and reminds me of my last visit to San Francisco.

Gail, thank you! Love to see your colored pencil works.

You are a glutton for hard work Akiko! I think it's beautiful! You know because you and I love details in portraits, it's harder for us to play them down in landscapes. It's taking me a while to get inspired but I guess I'll see if I can still meet the deadline. Hurray for you!

Akiko, I'd've never known you struggled with this. It has a wonderful charm. I really love how you played up the slanting sidewalk.

Erika, I know we both love details, but working too hard does not always bring out good results. Having fun may be the best solution! :)

R, thank you so much. You are so kind!
