Thank you Deb for tagging me! The rules are: go to the 6th photo folder in my computer, take the 6th photo and blog about it, then tag 6 people.
This is Benny. He is 18 years old and the oldest cat in our home. I remeber him as a young cat showing up in our yard with his mom and siblings. When his mom had another litter in our next door neighbor's yard, we took them all because he was about to call an animal control.
Three of the new litter found home at Tracy Chapman's estate, but they came back one month later due to a leukemia scare. Fortunately their leukemia test that was positive the first time changed to negative a few weeks later. This sometimes happens with kittens. Those three kittens found another home at our friend's in San Francisco. We ended up keeping 5 including him. They all turned out to be the sweetest cats. Now he is the last one we still have.
I'm not tagging anyone at this time.

Thanks for playing tag Akiko! Benny looks just like the cat, Chelsie, that I had for 18 yrs. She became ours because we felt sorry for her too. She wasn't a nice animal, but I never had the heart to give her away, and she harassed us for all of her 18 yrs.
18!!!!! That's like a billion human years!! He looks great! You should be in a pet food commercial or something. hugs!!
I have two 18 years also! Benny looks like my Charlie. Your cats are so fortunate to have you and your husband, it's too bad more people aren't like the two of you!
Aw, I didn't know you had a Benny, too. He looks like a character and very healthy! My cat Boomer will be 16 this July, it's amazing how she still acts and looks half that age...I think it's because I tell her every day how beautiful she is. I even make up songs about how beautiful she is and sing them to her, heehee.
Deb, Sheila, Gail, and Kathleen, thanks for your comments on Benny. 18 years is a big accomplishment for cats in our house. He is still very healthy. We just don't tell him how old he really is. ;)
Benny is wonderful...he looks like he's meditating :)
Also, I want to thank you Akiko for the bookmark. I received it today and it's beautiful! You're too kind!
Michelle thank you. Glad you like the bookmark! :)
Akiko what a lovely surprise I received today a beautiful bookmark! I love it! You didn't have to do that but you're just so sweet. It's always a pleasure to see your works my dear. Thanks so much!
The cat my husband had lived for 22 years. I guess they thrive when they are loved. Lucky Benny!
Awwwww, what a sweetie! We have a 16 year old with a heart condition, so every day is a blessing.

It is so difficult to distinguish your art from a photo, but I'm going to venture a wild guess and say that Benny is a photograph. I like cats and love your paintings, but, as a token of my admiration, I am sending you a big box of frogs from Costa Rica. I hope they don't "croak" in the mail.
Erika, glad you like the bookmark. :) How nice to have your beloved cat for 22 years!!
Carolee, thanks for your visit. :) We had one with heart condition. My prayers go out to your kitty.
James, I envy you for being surrounded by many cute and exotic frogs. Even if they don't croak, they will get me busted for trafficking endangered species. lol
I just found you blog, Akiko, and I am completely blown away. Fabulous work. I agree with James, it's hard to distinguish your photos from your paintings. Your detail is amazing.
Carol thank you so much for your wonderful comment!!
These are beautiful, Akiko. Your painting "Birman" looks exactly my ragdoll, Andy, who passed away. In your photo, Benny looks like my childhood cat, Simba, who was my best friend. You so capture the mystery and spirit and sweetness of these lovely cats. Wow!
Liz thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my cat paintings!
I too love drawing animals... but your work is breath taking... if you could please take a look at my work and you know give me a few pointer... it would help my art work a lot...
